DVDtracker is designed to catalogue your DVD movie collection. The program fetches information from Amazon's XML-based web service. DVDtracker requires an active internet connection (an 'always-on' broadband system is ideal).

The program, written using Apple's Xcode development system, is a standard Cocoa Core Data application for Mac OS X 10.4.x or greater. DVDtracker is a 'universal binary' - it will run on both older PowerPC Macs and the current Intel Macs.

The application is based on ISBNtracker (another Soft Touch program).

The stored DVD information includes Amazon's ASIN, title, publisher, release date, theatrical release date, aspect ratio, sales rank, region code, number of items in package, rating, length in minutes, actor(s), editorial comment, similar DVDs, cover image and director(s).

A selected DVD can be purchased directly from Amazon by clicking the 'Buy from Amazon' button.

Application preferences allow the user to search six different Amazon locations: USA, UK, France, Germany, Japan and Canada.

A search field allows the user to display a list of DVDs based on various search criteria: Release Date, Publisher, Title, Actor, Director.

DVDtracker includes an online check for the latest program update. There is also a built-in application help system with keyword search.

DVDtracker is free to use. The software is provided "as is", without any further warranties.
